ESL Summer Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION:

•Teach ESL classes to international high school and college age students participating in short-term summer group programs.

•Hours: 9 a.m. -12 p.m., Monday – Friday

•15 hours per week.

•Several positions available from 1 week to 4 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelors’ degree. Masters preferred.

•Previous ESL classroom teaching experience focused on student-centered learning. Previous tutor experience not applicable.

•Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with multi-ethnic groups a must.

•Knowledge of major sightseeing attractions in Chicago.

NOTE: Only candidates who have lived or worked in Chicago will be considered as local staff provides added value to students. AETS does not provide for travel or moving expenses, and is not able to provide visa assistance.

WAGE: $20 per hour

OPERATION DATES: July 3– August 3, 2009 (4 weeks). Must be available in June for training workshop.
