Visiting Instructor
The Ashikaga Institute of Technology, an exchange partner of the University of Illinois in Springfield, located in Ashikaga, Japan (about 70 km north west of Tokyo) is looking for a visiting instructor to teach in their English language program. The teaching load would be 4 class periods per week for two semesters beginning in March of 2008. The intial contract would be issued for 12 months with the possibily of yearly renewal. The salary is paid in yen - 300,000 per month or roughly $31,392/year. Salary is not subject to Japanese income tax for the first 2 years. Transportation to Japan and returning to the USA at the end of the contract would be provided.
Candidates need to have a Master's Degree (degrees in English, teaching, and/or ESL instruction preferred). No knowledge of Japanese is required.
