Part Time Bilingual Teacher

query: We currently have an opening for a Bilingual Teacher at Coventry Elementary School in Crystal Lake School District 47. This role provides resource and diagnostic services, instruction in English language development, and native language instruction to second language learners.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Screen all students entering with Spanish language backgrounds

• Plan and deliver English language development programs for eligible students

• Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as needed

• Confer with parents and teachers concerning individual students

• Consult with the Pupil Personnel Services Team at individual case conferences as requested

• Consult with classroom teachers regarding curriculum modifications necessary to meet the needs of the second language learner

• Maintain records on program students

• Maintain and improves professional competencies by attending workshops and conferences

• Attend staff meetings at building and district level; serves on district committees as needed

• Assist in curriculum planning as needed

• Provide staff development based on building and district needs

Requirements:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English

• High level of organization, flexibility, and cooperativeness

• Type 09 and Type 03 teaching certificate with bilingual endorsement or Type 29
