Job Title: ESL Instructor (Part-time)

 

Summary

Part time ESL Instructor needed immediately for two adult courses in Cicero.  Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:45-10:45 am and 12:15-2:15 pm.  (Will accept applications to instruct one course but prefer an instructor available for both.)  The courses will focus on improving receptive and productive skills in real world contexts.  A communicative and integrated skills instructional approach will be utilized.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Provide intake and assessment of new students.

·         Track students’ progress through pre- and post-tests, quizzes, authentic assessment methods, and homework

·         Employ teaching methodology that reflects best practices, addresses diverse needs and learning styles, as well as uses integrated curriculum

·         Integrate authentic materials with ESL subject areas.

·         Create daily lesson plans

·         Assist with curriculum development

·         Track attendance, achievements, and other measures

·         Submit monthly reports

·         Perform other duties as necessary

 

Minimum Qualifications

·         Bachelor’s in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Adult Ed, or a related field

·         Experience in instructing adult ESL learners

·         Organized, student-focused with an interest in diverse populations

·         Highly motivated, energetic, and dynamic

 

Preferred Qualifications

·         Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics, Adult Education, TESOL or related field.

·         Multi-lingual (speaking, reading and writing)

·         Experience in teaching adults.

 

Salary

·         $25/hour
