query: Loyola University seeks an experienced administrator to develop and expand its ESL programming and oversee academic ESL instruction. ESL programming at Loyola has three goals: First, provide high quality language instruction and support for ESL students; and undergraduate and graduate degree candidates enrolled at Loyola; second, provide innovative and customized ESL programs and seminars for the university's international partners and affiliates particularly in the summer terms; and third, offer professional guidance and expertise in support of the international dimensions of the university's strategic plan where these might include ESL programming, particularly in Vietnam. Loyola seeks a qualified ESL leader who will direct university efforts towards these goals and thereby positively influence the quality and scope ESL options at and through Loyola University.
This position reports to the Director of the Office for International Programs (OIP) within the Division of Academic Affairs. OIP manages study abroad, international student/scholar services, ESL, and provides administrative support to the John Felice Rome Center and the Beijing Center.
Specific Duties include:
- Coordination of the recruitment of students, both domestically and internationally.
- Marketing of the ESL program for maximum exposure to target groups
- Development and management of customized ESL programs, often offered during summer months, for students from Loyola affiliates and partners abroad.
- Consultative support for the Associate Provost for International Initiatives in the development of ESL options abroad, particularly in Vietnam.
- oversee staffing, and administration of ESL programming, testing, and courses for Loyola undergraduates and graduates needing language instruction.
