The UNO Charter School Network has been involved with educational reform in Chicago for the past 20 years and has responded to the educational dilemma by establishing six academically successful K-8 charter schools since 1997 and will open, in response to parent demand, two additional elementary schools and a quality high school in 2008 that will promote UNO’s standard of high expectations and structured school environment.
UNO knows that the key to the success of the Hispanic families is the set of expectations they have for themselves and what they believe they can achieve. UNO transforms Hispanic communities by challenging them to achieve their full potential through learning and civic involvement. To accomplish this, UNO develops and seeks talented, dedicated and visionary individuals to serve as leaders charged with developing and leveraging the potential of others.
UNO Charter School Network’s mission is to reshape the culture of education reform by creating learning environments where academic success is not a hope but an expectation.
