Join us for ITBE’s 41st Annual Convention! We are excited to announce ITBE’s 2015 Convention, "Extending Learning Partnerships". Our annual conference will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th 2015 at the Naperville Marriot. We have many splendid things planned for the upcoming convention. First, Richard Lederer, verbivore extraordinaire, will kick off our conference as Friday morning’s plenary. Named International Punster of the Year and Toastmasters International’s Golden Gavel winner, Mr. Lederer is sure to wow attendees with his wit and love of language. After a full day of invigorating and thought-provoking sessions from featured speakers and colleagues in the field, our first day of convention will close with Dr. Carolyn Theard-Griggs of Concordia University. Born to Haitian immigrants, Dr. Theard-Griggs will present on the importance of parental involvement and how to increase and sustain collaborative relationships in schools. Our second day of the convention will open with Kathleen Olson, author and former Institute for National Literacy Fellow. Having over 25 years of experience in teaching and training in the ESL field, Ms. Olson will present on making our teaching experiences of EPIC proportions. Closing the convention will be Dr. Keith Folse, of University of Central Florida. As an author of over 57 textbooks on many subjects and a prolific presenter at conferences worldwide, Dr. Folse is devoted to both the craft of teaching and teacher training. Here at ITBE we are gearing up for an outstanding 2015 convention! We are eager to meet with all of our members and celebrate our careers in ESL and bilingual education.
