Presenting the winning poems and the winning sponsors of our annual poetry contest. A special thank you to the teachers for taking the extra time to work with their students and arranging for the families to come to the convention for the awards program. A fun time was had by all!
Each winning sponsor received a gift card for $25 and a one year free membership to ITBE. Each first place winner received $30 worth of books from Scholastic. The second place winners earned $20 worth of books from Scholastic. In addition, the winner of the best poem from each grade level (Best of the Best award) received some poetry books selected by ITBE board members. 

Does this interest you? This contest is only open to ELL / Bilingual students that qualify to receive services. Teachers do not need to be a member of ITBE in order to enter the contest. Please consider entering your students in the contest next year.

Finally, I wanted to thank those that were a part of the Poetry Contest Committee; Muna Abunaser, Carolina Bermudez, Victoria Svazas, and Mia Bohlin. The contest would not have been possible without their help!
